In the ad, Dobson criticizes Washington insiders for worsening financial burdens and pledges to tackle inflation and reduce cost of living.
6. The University of Alabama has reached a milestone with enrollment exceeding 40,000 for the first time, including a record 3,434 first-year students from within the state. Fall 2024 saw a 7.9% increase in in-state freshmen, contributing to an overall enrollment growth of 4.7% and setting a new high in second-year student retention and minority student numbers.

The Trump campaign responded by highlighting the similarity between Harris’ proposal and Trump’s earlier action, sarcastically suggesting she had simply rebranded his idea.

Democrats are very bullish on the polls showing Vice President Kamala Harris’ “strong debate performance” against former President Donald Trump, with Harris leading Trump by 47% to 42% among registered voters. However, prediction guru Nate Silver cautions against overinterpreting the initial post-debate poll shifts, noting that traditional polling takes time and that his model still predicts a 59.6% chance of victory for Trump, which is heading back down.
