As election season ramps up, Alabamians are seeing campaign advertisements and endorsements from leaders across the political spectrum. From congressional races to the presidential contest, there has been no shortage of publicity.
The latest television advertisement in the state is from Caroleene Dobson, Republican candidate for Alabama’s Second District.
Titled “All My Best,” the ad is based on an actual, unsolicited, handwritten note of encouragement from Governor Kay Ivey that was sent to Dobson just weeks ago.
“Caroleene, running for office takes courage,” Ivey wrote. “You’re standing tall for the issues that matter most to families and fighting to make their lives better. I know you’ll work in Congress to bring better days ahead for all Alabamians. I’ll be so very proud to vote for you.”
“All my best, Kay.”
Dobson is grateful for the show of support and praised Ivey.
“Gov. Ivey is a strong woman of faith and a dedicated leader who works every day to create opportunities for Alabama’s citizens and families, so her support is welcomed and deeply appreciated,” Dobson said. “The handwritten note she sent was a surprise when it arrived in the mail, and its heartfelt words are both inspiring and motivational.”
Dobson is running against Democratic candidate Shomari Figures, former Chief of Staff to Merrick Garland.
She currently practices real estate law with the Maynard Nexsen law firm in Birmingham, and her clients include homebuilders, retailers, small business owners, and private landowners, among others.
